Rusty's absence, day three, here are my blessings:
1) Talked with Rusty on the phone (only briefly, but long enough to find out that he is doing well, despite the heat)
2) Energy to work out on my own, followed by a picnic at the red park/splash park. Eleanor was quite compliant on my feeding demands.
3) A loving sister-in-Christ that came to watch the children for me while I went to a doctor's appointment (which was a last minute request since our decision for Rusty to go to camp was a last minute decision)
4) CHURCH!! (HALLELUJAH!!)
5) Juice slushy from Sonic (because Samuel helped mommy by feeding Eleanor while I got ready for my doctor's appointment
I also found out that Rusty will be back on Friday and not Saturday. I am so excited!!!

Blessings Day Two
Here are the blessings from day two of Rusty being gone:
1) Kept warm by Samuel (once again)
2) Being able to practice yoga with Eleanor - there is a free yoga class at the "red park" on Tuesdays. So the boys get to play with friends and mommy gets to do yoga. Well, today, Eleanor decided to stay awake on the drive to red park, so she laid beside me on the yoga mat, and in typical newborn fashion, flailed her arms and legs while mommy did yoga.
3) Picnic at the red park/splash park
4) Juice-slushy from Sonic
5) Children nap time coinciding. This meant that Asher took a 2 1/2 hour nap instead of his 1 1/2 hour nap, but the quiet time was definitely worth it!
6) Getting caught up on laundry...tell me how it is that while Rusty is gone I can get caught up on laundry (some of which has been waiting to be put away since before our 2 week "Texas tour."
The blessings keep flowing down (I think I may get to clean-up from tornado Andy Kristopher again...)

Day 1 blessings
So here is a list of blessings I received today:
1) Samuel kept Eleanor and I warm all night long by sleeping with me in my bed (I am not sure how he kept Eleanor warm because she sleeps next to our bed). At least that is what he said.
2) Having a picnic and playing until Asher dropped at the "red park/splash park."
3) Playing astronaut with Samuel and Andy - which we had to cut short so I could bathe Asher so we could go to the post office before it closed.
4) And cleaning up Samuel's room after the tornado (aka Andy Kristopher) hit it.
All in all, today was a very blessed day for mommy and children. Rusty called and said he was having fun at church camp.

The Kitchen Sink
Mrs. House Spouse again. I have a very special story to share from our travels while Rusty has been looking for a job. We went on a 13-day road trip - which in itself is a long time to be away from home. So imagine the amount of luggage we packed for a family of six. It always seems that you take EVERYTHING with you when you are gone a long time, right? Well, I think Samuel put it best when he said, "we forgot to pack the sink. Next time, we need to make sure not to forget it."
See what had happened was that Samuel brought his cup with his juice in it and he wanted water. When we are at home, we washed out his cup in the kitchen sink before we give him water - hence the reason why we needed the kitchen sink. I thought it was very appropriate.

Insane or Brave?
Mrs. House Spouse here. I am taking a poll. Am I crazy or brave? Rusty was blessed by God with the opportunity to go to Little Prairie Bible Camp with the youth from our church to be a counselor. So how does correlate to my poll? Well, that means that I get all the children to myself until Saturday! I am so excited to see what way God will bless me this week. (PLEASE PRAY FOR MY SANITY!)

Garden
Hey it is me Mr House Spouse, my wife realized how hard it was to keep a blog updated, take care of the kids, house, and do everything else so it has been a little bit since anyone posted.
Anyway this week we are just waiting to hear back from the places I tried out at to see if any will give me an offer, it is going to be the longest week ever. my wife is doing all the final paper work to leave her job and become a mommy and though it is a "company house" they said we could stay until I find a job or til Sep 1 which ever comes first. :o)
Anyway we were gone for about 2 1/2 weeks back to back for some job interviews and visiting family when we got back last week our small 3x6 foot garden with tomatoes, radishes and corn was huge with tomato plants and WEEDS!!!! everything else around looked dry and dying off so we did not know what was going so I did not mess with it for a week because we were getting some HUGE tomatoes off of it. Well after having to throw 4 out because of rotting I thought I would look to see what was going on and to find out the ground under the pants was constantly wet. The weeds had grown and the garden hose had a slight drip that was keeping the ground wet and the weed covering was keeping it from evaporating. So the joys of a dripping water hose kept our garden alive while we were gone but in the long run did more hard, some of the vines even started to break.
So I spent the majority of today pulling weeds very carefully out of the garden and the boys were going to help until we also learned that small red ants decided to make the soft dirt from the garden and the sand box next to it their new home. Asher fell trying to help me pull weeds but luckily did not land in the ant area. Samuel and Andy decided they were going to take the hoe to the sand box and destroy all the Ant tunnels in there. I only got bit once by something don't know if it was an ant or not so I ended up spraying everything down with insect killer so the boys could play in their sandbox and help in the garden again in a few days.
I ended up putting stepping stones in the middle of the garden to stop weeds from growing there and give me easier access to it all. Well that is enough about me so tomorrow I will

Samuel's shots
So Rusty took Samuel to the doctor yesterday for a school physical and asthma checkup. The doctor's appointment went fine but of course, it was time for Samuel to get his booster shots. Rusty took Samuel to the immunization clinic. They had to yell "Jordan" before Rusty finally made Samuel get up. Samuel bravely walked down the hall to the room. Once he got inside the room and saw what they were going to do, he started getting scared and wanted to hold Rusty's hand. Samuel didn't cry at all...until they gave him his shots, and then (as Samuel put it) "he cried like a baby." But after the shots were down and they put the Charlie Brown band-aids over his shots, he was fine. Since last night, Samuel has been walking like they gave him a suppository and only walking about half the speed. Children are great entertainment. Watching them is better than any reality t.v. show!
No Super Vision Fairy
Mrs. House Spouse again. On Monday, I asked Rusty if he would be able to give the boys their bath that night. Well, of course, I interrupted him while he was writing "a very important e-mail." So he, being the wonderful husband he was, still ran the bath water, brushed the boys teeth, and put them in the bath and then left them. Samuel said, "Daddy-o, where are you going? You need to give us our wash-down." Daddy-o replied with, "Don't tell Mommy. I am going to let you play." Samuel said, "Yeah! Mommy doesn't ever let us do that." So Rusty went back to finish his e-mail while I fed Eleanor. After Rusty finished his e-mail he went back to check on the boys and found that they were using their shampoo to take a bubble bath. Well, it ended up that the bottle of shampoo we just opened just before Eleanor was born had about enough shampoo for another week. Rusty asked Samuel what happened to the shampoo and he said, "A fairy came in and poured it all out." So I named it the "no supervision fairy" and that name has stuck with Samuel since then. He has been telling everyone about the no supervision fairy.

Why Don't You Laugh?
Mrs. House Spouse again. Just wanted to share a funny story about Andy Kristopher. He is always telling jokes, but his jokes typically go something like this: "Knock, knock" to which we reply, "who's there?" and he replies, "Banana (or words to that effect)," "Banana who?" "Banana, blah, bah, blah (literally those words exactly)."
To adults, this is not very funny, but apparently Andy seems to think it should be because he typically says, "why don't you laugh? You are supposed to laugh at jokes."
I guess his humor runs on Rusty's side, because Rusty typically has to explain his jokes and why they are supposed to be funny.

Eleanor Two Week Well Baby Check
So this is Mrs. House Spouse posting for Rusty. I just wanted to put a couple of pictures up as well as let the world know about her first well baby check. She weighed 8 lbs 14 oz (up from 8 lbs at birth) and measured at 21 3/4 inches (up from 21 inches at birth).
I know the ever important question that is on everyone's mind: is she sleeping at night? She allows me to sleep about 3 hours continually at night and the doctor said today that based off her weight gain, I can allow her to decide when she wants to eat at night. I am excited about this news! We will see how that works out for us.
Also, I just wanted to share a copy of stories from Eleanor's birth, that Rusty has yet to post. When the boys came to visit Eleanor at the hospital after she was born, the first thing Andy asked was, "Mommy, do you have any more baby's in your belly?" I thought that was sweet of him to ask.
But there is nothing like facing the truth. When we came home from the hospital, the first thing Samuel said was, "Mommy, why is your belly still so big?" To which my reply was, "Mommy ate too much while she was pregnant and got fat." So now when I tell Samuel he doesn't need to eat so much, he replies with, "So I won't get fat like you?" I guess you have to be careful what you tell your children, you never know when they will repeat what you say.

Once there was a cow
Once there was a cow,
But he did not know how to plow.
He ate all the hay,
Before it was even May.
The farmer got very mad,
And it made the cow very sad.
So he tried and pulled,
He puffed and stulled,
But nowhere he went,
And the plow didn’t even make a dent.
Ashamed he was,
Because he couldn’t pull a plow like his cus.
The farmer saw all the work that the cow tried to do,
And he knew that to do the work, you have to have two.
So he got Betsy and put her with the cow.
Together they started to pull the plow.
They did half the field then the rest,
And the other cows noticed that they were the best.
The cow was proud of himself and had a lot of fun,
When he noticed all the work that he and Betsy had done.

Its a Girl (maybe)
Well we recently found out that the baby is most likely a girl. As with all gender testing they are not totally for sure since it could be hiding some body parts.
We have been debating names and are down to two. Please let me know which one you think would be best.
