Hey it is me Mr House Spouse, my wife realized how hard it was to keep a blog updated, take care of the kids, house, and do everything else so it has been a little bit since anyone posted.
Anyway this week we are just waiting to hear back from the places I tried out at to see if any will give me an offer, it is going to be the longest week ever. my wife is doing all the final paper work to leave her job and become a mommy and though it is a "company house" they said we could stay until I find a job or til Sep 1 which ever comes first. :o)
Anyway we were gone for about 2 1/2 weeks back to back for some job interviews and visiting family when we got back last week our small 3x6 foot garden with tomatoes, radishes and corn was huge with tomato plants and WEEDS!!!! everything else around looked dry and dying off so we did not know what was going so I did not mess with it for a week because we were getting some HUGE tomatoes off of it. Well after having to throw 4 out because of rotting I thought I would look to see what was going on and to find out the ground under the pants was constantly wet. The weeds had grown and the garden hose had a slight drip that was keeping the ground wet and the weed covering was keeping it from evaporating. So the joys of a dripping water hose kept our garden alive while we were gone but in the long run did more hard, some of the vines even started to break.
So I spent the majority of today pulling weeds very carefully out of the garden and the boys were going to help until we also learned that small red ants decided to make the soft dirt from the garden and the sand box next to it their new home. Asher fell trying to help me pull weeds but luckily did not land in the ant area. Samuel and Andy decided they were going to take the hoe to the sand box and destroy all the Ant tunnels in there. I only got bit once by something don't know if it was an ant or not so I ended up spraying everything down with insect killer so the boys could play in their sandbox and help in the garden again in a few days.
I ended up putting stepping stones in the middle of the garden to stop weeds from growing there and give me easier access to it all. Well that is enough about me so tomorrow I will
